My own aga went out last night, blocked pilot, so ****ed off with it as only recently gave it a good clean out, inc pilot, so it got a smack from a blunt instrument to see if it would clear itself. It didnt, so all out and back, thermocouple then failed, only recently changed, mutter mutter, swapped it for another and surprised by a 2 foot yellow burner flame off the main simplex burner, which upon examination revealed itself to have snapped internally, probably due to the initial wack!!!!
Then discovered aga had purchased the renovation firm I had restore my aga 10 years ago, and said firm now only sells new agas!!! So aga only wants to have new ones out there, keeps buying the little guys and shutting them down ie don burners par example.
But found warm oil, who are supplying a nice new burner bar ( hopefully the right one) and they are just down the road from me. Bonus is they are looking for an aga/rayburn techie down this way to forward work to.......... must kick my aga more often. Silver lining to every cloud.............. mrs isnt talking too me yet, but life is looking up overall, and silence is golden..................
