Never had an experience of having to do this but if it's a combined cold
feed and vent can you still bung it the usual way?

I've not tried one....yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work; the principle remains in setting up an air lock whether you use two bungs or one. Other hidden away aav's notwithstanding.

I had to bung one of these a few months ago. It had single inlet pipe for cold tank leading to CH header under loads of insulation. I nearly mistook the CH inlet pipe ball valve for the that of one on the CH feed! Drained and bunged ok . I cut in a ball valve lower down later on.
