Hey anyone used the bar shower fixing brackets that fit in the wall. Any advice on what distance to set them in the wall? So you can connect bar shower after its been boarded and tiled. I have always used the fixing kits that fit on the surface before, were you cut the pipes back so 25mm is sticking out then attach.

Bit concerned that by installing one of these brackets it will leave a compression fitting in the wall as it's a compression connection to the bracket. I thought compression should only be used if the fitting was accessible? Not in a tiled wall

Had bother with the compression fitting on the brackets in the past. Just use soldered backplate elbows, fitted level, at 150mm centres, with the pipe connection flush with the back of the plasterboard .

It depends on the thickness of the board and tile and the length of the 3/4" threaded tails. Some collars that the showers come with need a large amount of thread as they are deep so they cant be fitted so tile will have to be drilled spot on. Each job differs. Aim to have the Compression nuts 2/3mm back from the tile board. If using back-plate elbows I have the face of them 2/3mm behind the face of the tile then the collars will fit. Never had a problem with the compression fittings always air test to 10 bar before the board is fitted.

So the bracket with compression fittings in the wall are not advisable?

Which one is it? If its a marflow shwrpl8 its gine as the nuts in the wall simply hold the pipe to the plate and are not a water seal as the pipe padses through in one piece

As above the.

Will be exposed connections in the wall but like I said never has an issue with either. Just pre test.
