Which appliances do you come across? I'm doing my changeover in 2 weeks with comcat 1 and 3 as got a job in a small hotel with a commercial range and grill.

Have you come across many appliances that come under comcat 2 (water boilers) or comcat 5 (forced draught burner) done some research and the forced draught burners seem to mainly be in the expensive combi ovens and apparently the water boilers are mainly in coffee shops or electric these days anyway.

It would be an extra £70 for my comcat 2 and £120 for my comcat 5 so don't think I'll bother yet unless they are really common as I'm going to look for some extra work in small catering establishments.

I have done a few jobs in kitchens but hate working in greasy places hence just do domestic boilers now

yep I know it's not the most desireable environment to work in but I do the rest of the work in this hotel so it makes it worth it to do it to keep them as customers and do their safety checks as they have 6 gas appliances for me to work on. Turned down other catering work in the past before so will try to pick up extra bits.

hello, i do cp12's and cp42's.....the GS cp42 booklet is straight forward, make sure that your co2 meter is calibrated as is your analyser......but you know this so appologies!

yep I need to check if my analyser will measure co2 in ppm, its a testo 327-1 which I used almost every day and I think it's excellent but maybe just for domestic.

Already planned to buy those cp42 forms. I've literally read through the whole of the corgi non-domestc catering book so I should be ok after the course next week! Doing my laundry too now as just got another customer who needs a safety check with commercial catering and laundry appliances.
