Hi guys. This job is near reading. It is to do a couple of bathrooms, move boiler, move tanks in loft higher and put cylinder in loft. Possibly put in an unvented cylinder as mains pressure and flow off the chart.
A bit too far for me but it is for my wife's friend.
Hi, I'm Aaron gas safe registered from Tyne and wear. I have held my certs for 3 years now, I'm currently working for a local heating company in Gateshead. Looking forward to chatting and expanding my knowledge in the trade.

Hi lads,
Just came across one of the German HIU units. The problem I am facing is the fluctuating hot water. According to the customer it goes form hot to cold while having a shower or washing dishes.
I went out and checked the unit and it fluctuates at the whole property ( block of flat ). I...
I'm having a full house refurb and extensions built and had always been keen to have underfloor heating and no radiators. We don't have any plans for a fire or burner either.
Does anyone have any experience living solely with UFH?
Would you recommend it or should I maybe go with UFH for the...

Hello. Excuse my ignorance but I think I MAY have a problem with my Potterton 40L boiler.
Basically it runs ok for around 30 minutes and then it starts this cycle of turning off the flame, pump runs for a couple of minutes, the whole thing shuts down and goes completely silent, then instantly...

Hello. Recently I rented a studio apartment in Dublin and there was a plumbing issue thus the host requested compensation for it. However, I did not remember causing any clogging during the stay. Oddly, the whole toilet was clogged (toilet bowl, shower and sink). I even disposed of toilet wipes...

Hi I am installing new radiators and changing the TRVs for more modern ones. My question is with respect to the original pipework there is a TRV 'body' in place which the old TRV fitted to. Should I change the TRV 'body' or just screw the new head onto the existing body.
thanks in advance.

When fitting a whole house pump with break tank, I tee on the water main after the pump ( with a stop tap and double check valve). This enables the customer to still get water if there is a power cut.
Does anyone know of a normally closed valve, that will open on power failure, so this can be...

I've noticed the automatic air vent on the top part of my boiler is leaking. Here's a photo: i.*********/Elb7Xqo.jpg
It's in a position that would be bugger to replace so I'd rather not have to deal with getting it sorted right now, and I was hoping there would be a cap on it to close the vent...

I just moved into a flat with a 1.5 kitchen sink (1 1/2 pipes). The waste pipes are setup similar to this picture here:
Sadly, the piece that is circled was cut to short by over a 1/2 inch so it doesn't fit well into the bottom part of the piece. I went to try find a connector like that but I...

My Bathroom installer wants to box in and tile around a toilet cistern and a motorised valve which is part of the central heating.
Should I be concerned or are these items non serviceable?
Any comments appreciated.
Hi all,
I have a bathroom basin mixer tap - one of the crosshead handles is missing an arm.
I have been looking for a pair of handles to replace the existing ones and people keep telling me that it would be easier to just buy a new tap.
I am a plumbing newbie - changing the whole tap...
I have a rim/spray bidet (Armitage Shanks - which dates to about 1988. It is basically in good condition and I don't want to replace the whole bathroom suite.) A lever changes between rim and vertical spray, and another small knob opens/closes the drain. I want to service the mixer tap/popup...

Hi,
the sensor head has broken off on one of the TRV's and can't be repaired. I have bought a like for like replacement TRV although it is only the head I need. I have tried fitting the head on by just screwing it on to the old valve with the securing ring but it doesn't seem to work and the...
