I guess I'm fairly new to the boiler work game(about 5-6 years) but for me it has to be the (im)famous Ideal Isar range. How did that ever pass the testing phase is beyond me, the amount of them I've worked on with chocked condensate traps and a boiler filled with metal eating condensate :(

Scewfix are selling these silicone smoothing kits off at just over a fiver. A few months ago they were retailing at £12. They really are excellent and produce clean smooth silicone lines on baths and tiling.

Hi, just wondering how members are testing the APS. I have a method of testing the APS with the boiler isolated electrically and it also doesn't involve blowing down the switch, which can damage it.

Evening all I mainly do installs do very little mantainence, woman rang me said she has hot water for 10 secs then goes cold so I'm presuming it's blocked exchanger is there a quick way of unblocking it or is it just easier to replace it? Thanks in advance

I get a lot of customers asking is it more economical to leave the heating on all the time and just control with the thermostat or is it best to use the timer. I personally think its best to use the timer but is there any real answer to this?
