I'm new to the form, so Hi everyone.
Can somebody explain why, with a modern boiler in an open-vent system, both the feed and vent are necessary. Surely the feed would cope with any expansion.

What is the preference out there on either the inline magnetic or electrolytic scale inihibitors?
Would you guys recommend differently if it was for whole house protection as opposed to just boiler protection?
Lets assume London so hard water.

I have an unused, boxed, Telford Tornado 170 litre indirect hot water tank for sale. I paid £650 and will accept £400 if buyer collects. I am in London EC1 (farringdon).
I bought this on the advice of a plumber who couldn't fix my existing tank. Pimlico then swooped in and repaired the...

Hi All
I have accumulated several old copper hot water cylinders, old copper pipe, assorted brass fittings and some old taps.
Is it worth me taking a trip to the local scrap metal yard? What should I expect to get for a standard sized copper cylinder?

I was bending pipe today abd a apprentice was trying to show me a rule to follow!
He said there is a simple equation called 'measure back' but he could not remember the rule!
Does anybody remember being taught this at college?

Has anyone come across 18mm plastic pipes for their cold water feed (toilet, sinks etc)?
My apartment is fitted with these pipes but all the new fittings I've got are 15mm, does anyone know where to get adaptors/converters from? or even any other way reducing down to 15?

Can you please let me know if any of you installed an unvented hot water cylinder in a loft space? and if so is there any special consideration I should take into account before the installation or the cylinder can be fitted virtually any where in the property?
Thanks
