Hi all,
I've just replaced a Mira event that worked fine for 15 years with 'up and over' pipework, which should have been 'down and under'. There's now air in the shower - of course - and I was wondering if there's anything I can fit that will let the air out. I am aware that I should have...
Hi,
Since this morning each time it starts up the boiler seems to have taken to making a screeching howl sound.
It also made a crazy knocking noise like someone was kicking in the back door ... which it stopped when I killed the power.
It's under a service contract, but as it's freezing I...
We have just had our boiler serviced, after about an hour of having the heating on the display shows: -¦¦- and the boiler makes a very load vibrating noise which can be felt when touching the boiler.
Our engineer wasn't sure what could have caused it, he will be back in a few days to take a...

Hi all,
Just had my new boiler installed. Went from a heat only with hot tank to a combi boiler.
Its a Ideal Logic+ 30 and in the menu it shows sensor values. I understand there should be a large difference between flow and return values but quite often when running there is only a 5 degree...

This may be just the part of the world I'm in but I can't remember in my working life, seeing an oil tank inside a property before. ( commercial property) I know it's allowed but there are rules.
This one is face to face with the boiler ( 2 foot max away).

After finding my Bosch 10.8 driwall gun is not powerful enough to screw down Hardiebacker I have had to resort to buying another screwgun as getting those sheets screwed down quick in big rooms is a godsend.
I've been through them all and its down to a 240v Bosch (and use my existing magazine)...
Baxi Barcelona, which has been upgraded to 100He spec
On the original control board there were 2 jumpers ..
Both were removed as this boiler is connected to a thermal store
J1 to set to 100,000Btu/h
J2 to turn off modulation
New board has 4 jumpers
J1 Red
J2 Blue
J3 Blue
J4 Yellow

Bayonet fitting should should allow hose to fall naturally without bending the hose at the connection. A cooker hose that is strained or bent where it connects to bayonet fitting I thought was classified as at risk because there is a Rick the hose could fail.
Someone told me today it's just Ncs.
Hi all,
I have one radiator that does not get warm at all.
I have tried.
Replace cv value
Close other radiators except this one for a short time (to try an push air lock around)
System flush with cleaner
No I have removed this radiator to clean with a pressure washer by closing the inlet...

I propose a new swear word that should automatically be banned/starred out, like "hot water" is when the 2 words are joined
Being a curious sort, I didn't listen to the warnings about the above words and googled them
It's now made me ill and put me off having a jump

Hi all I have a ideal vogue 32kw combi.
It was wired direct to a fuse spur and I am trying to fit a salus wirless stat and programmer.
I have fitted the receiver as per instructions and removed the link on the boiler but the stat is calling for heat when it should be switches off and then...
I have a related problem which I have been trying to resolve for the past 12 months.
Whenever I power up my system my hot water turns on and will not switch off.
I have had the problem since last autumn we turned the heating on for the first time and it wouldn’t work. We called a plumber and...

I am debating on what filter to add to my power flush. There are two which I have looked at but only used one which is the kamco combimag and the other is magnacleanse.I am fairly new to the game but does the magna cleanse really work as well as when connecting with a power flush machine...
Hi,
I seem to be getting a lot of air in the system if I take the pump off its bare minimum setting, just left of the venting setting.
I have a open vented S-plan, originally a british gas installation, fitted to a bungalow.
The pump and valves are in the airing cupboard together with the...

Hi I am installing new radiators and changing the TRVs for more modern ones. My question is with respect to the original pipework there is a TRV 'body' in place which the old TRV fitted to. Should I change the TRV 'body' or just screw the new head onto the existing body.
thanks in advance.

Hi All
I am enquiring on behalf of my mother. She has a combo boiler installed and its now been losing pressure every week for the last month or so.
There is no obvious leaks around the radiators.
She had someone from her home insurance home emergency team come and have a look. My mother...
Hi, the sentence in the title is part of the instructions for a Cersanit close coupled toilet, I know that the sentence could not be any clearer but this seems odd to me. Should the cistern be away from the wall? The toilet that I'm replacing was screwed to the wall via two holes in the back of...
