poor flow

The Poor Knights Islands are a group of islands off the east coast of the Northland Region of the North Island of New Zealand. They lie 50 kilometres (31 mi) to the northeast of Whangarei, and 22 kilometres (14 mi) offshore halfway between Bream Head and Cape Brett. Uninhabited since the 1820s, they are a nature reserve and popular underwater diving spot, with boat tours typically departing from Tutukaka. The Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve surrounds the island.
Beaglehole (1955) comments that the origin of the island name is not clear, and speculates that the name could be related to the Poor Knights of Windsor, or that the islands were named for their resemblance to Poor Knight's Pudding, a bread-based dish topped with egg and fried, popular at the time of discovery by Europeans.

Hot water cylinder, poor flow and cold water to kitchen.

I got asked recently to have a look at someones hot tap in their kitchen. It's an ordinary semi-detached two floor house . The tap is downstairs and fed by an indirect copper cylinder on the next floor with a vent going to the cistern in the attic. This was apparently always the setup. The...

Power flush? will I really need this?

Hi Forum I have replaced all pipework and rads over the past 3 years. The boiler has finaly given up So, before I put in a new one, do I really need to power flush? I was going to drain the system and have a look for debris, if its pretty clear I'd have thought a power flush was un-neccassary...

good pressure but poor mains flow?

At all outlets. Combi. Every tap performs like a tank-fed one with relatively decent head. But you'd never guess it was mains. My mate has a thing you attatch to a washing machine hose and it measured it at 3 bar. Thoughts on why such unimpressive mains flow? Poor supply pipe from street...

    temperature problems

I have a problem with my valliant boiler. I have a thermostatic shower and when turned on i get no hot water from it. The only way to get it hot is by turning the hot taps on fully to start the burner up on the boiler then turn the shower on and the taps off. The problem is then that the water...

    Vaillant 438

We've just fitted one of these (conventional not combi) for a customer. Most of the time it fires up OK but once or twice a day it will shut down reading code S53 - "insufficient water flow". It will keep trying to fire up but often takes an hour (15 attempts!) to start working properly...

    Hot water leak and bloackage

The oil AGA was not heating the water in the indirect hot water cyl (which I replaced on Wednesday), the feed pipe was barely warm. The AGA engineer suggested tieing the CWS tank ball valve up to see if there was a leak on the HW side which would explain why the AGA would not heat the hot...

Hi board, I'm currently using an electric shower - but the flow is useless. So I've noticed that our bath taps has an outlet/adapter to screw a shower hose onto (we've only just moved in, last owner must have got rid of the hose). Anyway, it's about 26mm dia, and the shower hose we are using...
