One of the tap for my shower is leaking and I want to replace the cartridge(?) but I cannot seem to remove or loosen it using a spanner(10-14). There are no grub screws around it. Can someone please suggest what tool I need to buy for this or should I just hire a plumber?
Hi all, hope you're well.
First of all I am trying desperately to fix the toilet myself. I have told the wife I can do it so my reputation as man is at stake...lol.
The truth is all was going fine until our ensuite toilet started leaking. So thought I would replace the everything as they were...

I am a complete novice here so any help would be appreciated.
I turned of the hot water valve/feed next to the hot water tank in the airing cupboard to try and fix a stiff tap in the bathroom next door.

I watched some videos on youtube and they wear talking about taps that were actually leaking from around the side and needed to replace the valve and stuff. Mine is just dripping from the actual tap itself. Do I still need to replace the valve?
If I do, how do I make sure I buy the right...
Sister called me saying there's an oil leak in her burner. Called round and took pic of it. Its this part with the very small copper pipe going into it. The oil is dripping from it every sec or so. Can anyone tell me what it is and is it straight forward to fix?
Dear All,
I have durapipe (light grey pipe 1970s use) in my house. It is all over the house so for certain repairs I have bought some universal couplers which have worked well.
However, I have noticed that on a join under the kitchen sink, the pipe is dripping. It seems to be a crack in he...

Thusfar I've hit and hoped and got away with. Aiming to plonk fixing in a place I "sense" won't be in same place as the run and go to the bare minimal depth for a good fixing.
Like today, tiled floor, small cloakroom, mains popping up in corner. Pan to fit...

Hi all,
The U Bend under my kitchen sink is leaking constantly now and making a mess. The press is terribly damp.
I need to get it fixed, but can't afford a tradesman right now.
Is it a simple enough fix to DIY?
I've been watching the tutorial videos, and the pros make it look very straight...
I have had a double dose of descaler in a system for about a week running a turbomax 828e which was kettling a little when started but perfectly fine once warmed up. It's almost there but wanted to find out if anyone has used a descaler n it's been fine for another few years as the kettling was...
Hi all,
I've got a customer who wants me to fix a leak where the toilet pan meets the pan connector. Of course I'd usually take out the pan and replace the connector but for a variety of reasons (rusted screws etc...) it's difficult to move so I was wondering if there was a quick fix that would...

Firstly I'd just like to say hi as this is my first post.
I've noticed a fairly constant drip coming from my hot water system that seems to be because of a loose fitting but I'm not sure if it's something I should risk tying to fix myself. The leak was noticed because it started coming through...

Hello,
My central heating system has been running OK for the past few years, but yesterday things went wrong.
The system is a 1980's vintage gravity fed system.
The problem started as follows:
1 - I'd noticed that a couple of rads were slightly cool, but warmer at the bottom than the top.
