conventional
A convention is a set of agreed, stipulated, or generally accepted standards, norms, social norms, or criteria, often taking the form of a custom.
In a social context, a convention may retain the character of an "unwritten law" of custom (for example, the manner in which people greet each other, such as by shaking each other's hands). Certain types of rules or customs may become law and sometimes they may be further codified to formalize or enforce the convention (for example, laws that define on which side of the road vehicles must be driven).
In physical sciences, numerical values (such as constants, quantities, or scales of measurement) are called conventional if they do not represent a measured property of nature, but originate in a convention, for example an average of many measurements, agreed between the scientists working with these values.
Good Morning all, could someone shed some light into why I get the following issue.
I have a 8 year old conventional boiler, there are 2 tanks in the loft which I'd assume are the cold water storage and the feed and expansion tank (whatever that does). Every month one of these tanks spurts...

what is the advantage to use a ground breaker box as opposed to a conventional stop tap below ground, apart from it may be easier to turn the water on and off and may eliminate the need for another stop tap
Recent problem with this boiler.
Selecting HW/Heating, boiler files up fine, took me an hour to realise the water or heating wasnt working.
Looking at the flame picture, the burner seems to produce a very small flame around the pilot area, only in the corner of the burner area.
The burner is...

can anyone help me decide how to choose between regular/ manual rad valves or thermostatic, if I want to be able to control the temperature in different parts of the house without the boiler being forced to go on pumping all the time? Or can I have a mixture of the two?

Been looking at this pipe bender. Conventional pipe benders have always struck me as being fiddly and poorly designed, but I'm not so sure about parting with £75 for one that only does 15mm.
Ridgid E-110 Hex Wrench,
Great tool made by one of the leaders in the tool market, probably more ideal for the more commercial/industrial user - but is obviously just as conventional as a usual adjustable spanner.
Great for Unions/Glands etc.
Full lifetime Guarantee.
RRP is £60,

Alright.
I'm an apprentice currently studying the central heating unit of my course. I have a couple of queries regarding conventional S-Plan open vented systems. (Even more specifically close coupled systems).
Why is it requisite that the feed and vent pipes running to a typical F&E cistern...
