condensate pipe
A condensate pump is a specific type of pump used to pump the condensate (water) produced in an HVAC (heating or cooling), refrigeration, condensing boiler furnace, or steam system.
I recently bought a new house, and have notice that the neighbours have a pipe that sticks out of their wall about 2 inches and hangs over my brick driveway. What initially believed to be some sort of overflow pipe now looks to be a condensate pipe from a boiler, as it only drip for a small...
My Baxi platinum 24he keeps losing pressure and I have no leaks anywhere the prv isn't dripping and the expansion vessel seems to be holding pressure. The only thing I have noticed is the condensate pipe is dripping when the boiler isn't running could this be where the water is going and if so...
Hi Guys - a couple of years ago we had a new condensing combi boiler installed in our 1970s house, which originally would have had warm air heating, to replace an old free standing gas boiler. The combi is fitted in what was the cupboard for the warm air heating unit in the hallway and is...
My neighbour had his boiler re-sited upstairs in 2012. The condensate pipe comes out of the wall, bends directly down vertically and ends about an inch above the lean-to over his drive - our drive is adjacent to his drive. The condensate then rolls about 10ft down the lean-to and into a gutter...
Worcester boiler seems to have an extra cold feed from the boiler to the bathroom?
If this is the case... why?
The problem is that the hot water feed is fine. I.e. the hot water is red hot which is what I want..
As soon as the cold tap is put on though the hot reduces in temperature...
I have a Vaillant Ecotec 415 Plus system boiler installed a few years ago. Originally it was an open vented system, but I have recently done a renovation and made the central heating a sealed pressurised system with an external expansion vessel replacing the expansion tank.
Ever since the...

Hi folks,
I'd appreciate a bit of help if possible.
My boiler has suddenly started loosing pressure. I now need to pressurise the system twice a day. At first I thought it was a leek but after a thorough investigation I was unable to find one. I then placed a plastic cup under the condensate...

Like many others my condensate pipe from my boiler repeatedly froze last winter. I have been advised to re-route the pipe so that it remains inside the house. I have a sink adjacent to the boiler and intend to connect the condensate pipe to the waste pipe from the sink, a distance of about 2...

Hi,
I hope someone can shed some light for me please.
We have just bought a property and I am in the process of doing some light refurbishing before renting it out.
I have noticed that the condensate pipe on the boiler does not seem to be connected or going anywhere.....it looks like someone...

Boiler engineer said knocking noise and vibration was due to blocked condensate pipe due to boiler not being cleaned out regularly, cleaned it out but said he couldn't fix anything which was not inside the boiler. Company still charged me flat £240 fee for the privilege! Now skint. Second...
Have had a long problem with pressure in my WB Greenstar HE plus combi - been losing pressure since last October. At first it was only every week or so that I had to top it up, but now it is every day almost.
Had British Gas out on HOmecare plan - they reset the expansion vessel and then...

Hello - My boiler is situated in a boiler cupboard adjacent to an external manhole. There is no internal drainaway, so there is a 32mm pipe taking the condensate away to the manhole. The pipe is only around 300mm long, and 100mm of that is outside, poking out of the wall and down into the...

Problem Hot water goes cold at taps/shower/basin/sink after a few mins.

Hello There, Thanks for letting me join your forum.
I am a retired Instrumentation Engineer (Lady fitter) as we used to be called and so perhaps most of you might think I shouldn't need any help, but I do. Since retiring, I have had great help from various forums including gardening and 'car...
So I'm down staying with my 84 yr old granddad and woke to a cold house as the boiler had stopped working. The condensate drain had frozen on his new boiler and he has been having to defrost it every few days at the moment. The boiler is inside his integral garage on the outside wall at high...
Hi guys,
First post.
I have a Worcester greenstar junior 26cdi - something like that. Anyway, a few times in this winter and last it has packed up - heating engineer came out, said it was the condensate pipe freezing, unthawed it - dried out the dampness that got inside from where the water...
