condensate pipe
A condensate pump is a specific type of pump used to pump the condensate (water) produced in an HVAC (heating or cooling), refrigeration, condensing boiler furnace, or steam system.
Hi all,
I've not long moved into our current house and I have had the condensate pipe freeze during this recent weather so I am trying to help prevent it for next time. (It didn't freeze in the last sub zero spell of weather so I can only assume the wind didn't help)
Currently it is draining...
I have a worster bosch combi boiler.
When I just use hot water everything is fine. If I turn the central heating on the boiler bubbles like crazy and tries to light with a booming noise.
It then fails and turns on the reset.
I have searched through various areas including this site and come to...
Hi everyone! We recently had a new condensing combi boiler installed but the downstairs neighbours are concerned the condensate pipe has not been installed correctly and will cause damage. It runs outside, drops about 2m to run off in their bay window gutter. We will eventually run the pipe...
Hi there,
The 21 year old boiler (Worcester Bosch 350) has failed in my first floor, small one bedroom flat which has concrete floors throughout. My existing boiler is in a cupboard at the back of my lounge next to an outside wall. The flow and return pipes come out here too (I think they run...

Hi,
I had my boiler serviced a few weeks ago and today found water.. or thought it was water coming out the bottom of the boiler.... called an emergency gas engineer out who discovered that the condensate pipe between the trap and heat exchanger had not been put back on after the previous guy...

A customer has recently purchased a new house and wants to temporarily install a washing machine into the same room containing the Potterton Precision System boiler and where, conveniently, the mains water stop tap is located. I've tapped into the mains water and provided a cold feed for the...
Hi,
I don't know if you could advise me best in regards to the following situation.
I had leak on the boiler but could not see where this was coming from. Eventually I got a plumber in to have a look. They diagnosed that the condensate pipe has become blocked between the boiler on the landing...

If chasing a condensate pipe in to the wall, and then exiting the building so needs to be 32mm pipe. Because.the 22mm pipe is in a chase.when it exits the building in to a 32mm elbow. Part of the elbow will be in the wall. I am concerned as you would never know if.it started to leak. Any one got...
Seem to be getting a spate of leaks of condensate pipework after it's been fitted a few years where the solvent cement on the fittings appears to be getting eroded away by the condensate.
Anyone else getting this problem ?
Hi all first post so thanks for taking the time to read! As per title I am having a new ideal boiler fitted in my loft soon and have had two different views as to where the condensate pipe should run. One is saying has to run in to the soil stack (which is the other end of the loft so long run)...

I have a 32mm condensate pipe sticking out the wall for a combi.
It comes out the wall about 1m from the ground. It then needs to turn left and travel 3m where it will join right at the bottom of a soil pipe through a strap on boss.
My question is - can I put the 3m bit (as long as it is...
Hi, I have had a full CH system installed in my bungalow Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28HE + 7 rads in a day and am concerned that some corners have been cut.
The boiler sits in a cupboard in the centre of the bungalow. A ll pipework runs up to it from under the floor and to my mind is the high point in...
Hi, we had a new combi fitted 10 months ago. It was fitted with a condensate soakaway as no drainpipe/drain nearby. The fitter assured us that it was all done correctly and that it has been fitted into a soakaway. After (just recently) reading to manufactures instructions concerning the soakaway...
Hi there,
I've recently discovered a leak from the u-bend in which the condensate pipe drains into. I live in a block of flats so it doesn't drain outside. Unfortunately the pipe work is in the most inconvenient place behind the walls with only 2 access holes available to try and work out...

Some boiler manufacturers and industry guidance says that you can boss a condensate pipe for a condensing boiler into a washing machine standpipe. Is this assuming the washing machine standpipe is actually still being used by the washing machine?
I'm just wondering if a washing machine pump...

Would this cause a boiler to cut off after about 5 minutes of it being on? Or would it not fire at all if the condensate was blocked? Have this problem with a greenstar 28. Pump is ok and done the usual checks and unsure what is wrong.
What would a condensate pipe being unsealed be classed as? For example the condensate rubber flexi hose just being put into a bit of 32mm waste pipe instead of the jubilee clip onto Condy pipe then into a 32mmx21.5mm reducer?
At present Heatsave combi in bathroom with condensate with long run outside in 3/4".
Plan is to connect internally to existing 32mm waste from basin. Bottom of boiler is slightly lower than top of basin.
If I connected under floor boards using a tee and a bung to reduce to 3/4 I could run 3/4"...
Hi,
Hopefully someone can offer some advice. Recently we had a new Combi Boiler fitted (a Worcester Greenstar 28 Condensor Boiler). The engineer decided it was best to install the condensate pipe under the floor to prevent freezing.
A couple of days after the install we left for a short...
