bar
The bar is a metric unit of pressure, but not part of the International System of Units (SI). It is defined as exactly equal to 100,000 Pa (100 kPa), or slightly less than the current average atmospheric pressure on Earth at sea level (approximately 1.013 bar). By the barometric formula, 1 bar is roughly the atmospheric pressure on Earth at an altitude of 111 metres at 15 °C.
The bar and the millibar were introduced by the Norwegian meteorologist Vilhelm Bjerknes, who was a founder of the modern practice of weather forecasting. The International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) lists the bar as one of the "non-SI units [that authors] should have the freedom to use", but has declined to include it among the "non-SI units accepted for use with the SI". The bar has been legally recognised in countries of the European Union since 2004. The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) deprecates its use except for "limited use in meteorology" and lists it as one of several units that "must not be introduced in fields where they are not presently used". The International Astronomical Union (IAU) also lists it under "Non-SI units and symbols whose continued use is deprecated".Units derived from the bar include the megabar (symbol: Mbar), kilobar (symbol: kbar), decibar (symbol: dbar), centibar (symbol: cbar), and millibar (symbol: mbar).
Water pressure on Vallaint dropped to below 0.5 bar over last few days and then F.25 displayed. I noticed 2 rads in loft has a lot of air and had to bleed several times before water came out. Topped up several times yesterday but pressure dropped suddenly. Topped up again this morning to 2bar...

Hi
I have a vaillant combi.
Central heating is working fine.
If I put a tap on for hot water the boiler fires up but only delivers luke warm water.
If I leave the tap on (tap A) and then go and turn on another tap in the house (tap B), then tap A delivers proper hot water!
Any ideas at all?

I have a Vailant condensing boiler (fitted last year) and have a query re the pressure.
When running (it turns on off a thermostat) the pressure reads approx 1.2-1.3 bar. When not running it is around 0.7-0.9 bar.
Obviously I can put more water in to increase the pressure but would like to...

Hi guys, I have an extremely annoying problem. The pressure on the boiler is dropping by 1.0bar every 4 hours. The problem has been going on for about 4 weeks now. It is a Glow Worm 38cxi. I called glow worm out who told me that it must be a leak in the system and not the boiler at fault. So I...

Hello gentleman. I've had a new boiler and cylinder installed. I became suspicious after a few things were done wrong - nothing serious, but silly things like wires being attached to hot pipes instead of being properly tied to the wall and also the controller was wired wrong which meant that...
