Can anyone recommend a good and accurate wire/pipe detector? I've had one in the past which told me a wooden noggin was a live wire and could do with buying one that actually works.

My dad had a bosch one that he got thrown in with a drill, didn't seem to bad, but it never gets used. I once drilled through a cooker cable with his brand new bosch 36v sds. First thing he said was 'you best not have **** my drill up'. Love you to dad lol.

Can't fail with a hammer & nail for the pipes & a wetted finger for the cable!!
Get out of it! lol

I think the one I had was a Stanley which funnily enough I got off my dad after he drilled through a gas pipe. "Here son, you'll need that."

I have got one in the van and never use it. I think the good ones are quite expensive so have never really bothered with them. Drill, close your eyes and hope for the best

checkout the milwaukee m12 subscanner, seems good. but expensive.

most will give false reading from time to time tbh.
