while out on me mountain bike with the family,this s long since disused cymmer viaduct,trains once run over it used to connect via a 1,595 yard tunnel Cymmer Tunnel i went for a walk up this as a sprog,bit dark to say the least,anyway it always fascinates me the old pieces of engineering are grandfathers made for example how did they do the viaduct? no cranes or modern machinery

they did it the same way china does now hundreds of cheap labour my dad always grumbled about the huge walls that the rich built around there estates called them penny a day walls
the greatest has to be the churches and cathederals some were built over a few centuries and several generations of tradesmen never knew anything else working just for there keep
 
lots of wood and rope gives a bit of scaffolding, chinese style
