Hi all. If a inset gas fire is the furthest appliance from the meter what's the correct method for purging if the joints before the appliance are soldered? Obviously the idea is to crack a union but if there are no unions near to the appliance what is the correct method?

That's what I'm on about?

Yer I do. What I'm after is an opinion as to whether it is correct to purge from another appliance which isn't the furthest point. In the viper book it doesn't actually state it needs to be from the furthest poknt

The reason for so many questions is down to the fact my company don't seem to do anything by the book. So although I work with gas most days it's not always to the regs.

I did ask if I could use the fire and was told it would take ages to purge so they'd rather a union cracked. I know if I was at work I'd be told to just light the fire.

it does take ages to purge on occasions however i wouldn't crack a nut on your test lol.

you did answer your own question tho nigh on tho you probably just need nudging in right direction more

Purge by ignition surely?
