Hi all,

Just wanted to check something.

I need to connect onto an old 1 1/2 inch copper waste pipe. I'm assuming I'll be fine just using a modern plastic compression coupler to do the job

Am I right or will I need something a bit more special?

Cheers in advance.
Bob

Yes, a compression type plastic connector will fit it as they have exra diameter & therefore more universal.
You can also get special push on plastic waste fittings that have also a wider diameter but use a heavy tapered seal in them. Hepworth make them, but not to be confused with their standard push fittings with an O ring in them.
If the copper was removable - I would replace it for scrap!

Thanks for the info. Yes, i'm planning to remove it down to near the floor.
