evenin lads....went to a noisy ecomax pro 18 today...took the cover off and smelled gas and saw scorch marks around the burner....i know that there is a problem with the gaskets on these and the glow worms and the gaskets need replacing with the graphite upgrades...just wondering how difficult it is and what sort of price should i charge? not done one before...and before you ask.....i turned off boiler capped supply and labelled "ID".
cheers.

Changed one on a "985" (or something like that) and its a doddle. 40 mins including checking BP and combustion check.

seal kit comes with new nuts, seal and washer for the gas pipe connection theres even a hook to hang the burner on

The kit is around £11 plus vat. If you are on good terms with your local rep, and a bit cheeky then you may get one for free, like me:27:

quite easy to do on the vaillant as the gas pipe is a flexi pipe . the glow worms are ok as well the only one i struggled with was the glowworm cxi 30 i struggled to reconnect the gas pipe from the gas valve to the boiler valve - the pipe never swiveled far enought like the manual said(anyone else had this problem).dont forget to change the little oval rubber seal as well it comes in the kit

Done the graphite seal no probs...thanks lads.....only trouble is now I've got leak on the seal for the cylindrical burner.....does anyone know the part number for this?? And do I have to take the whole assembly off again to replace or can I just take out the burner?
