towel rail
A towel rails radiator or a heated towel rail is a feature designed to heat towels before using them. For many years, European hotels have used them as combined towel- dryers/racks. The towel warmer is a bathroom heater suitable for both drying and heating towels and the environment. There are two versions: traditional ones that are plumbed like a radiator with water heated from a central boiler, and electric ones where an electrical resistance heats water or oil contained in the unit
Hi again, i'll try and keep this as short as possible with all the facts, hopefully somebody can help me understand what is going on (I suspect it's an air lock somewhere).
1970's CH, gas boiler, gravity fed, no diverter valve, header/expansion tank present, CH pump has direction arrow pointing...
I'm wondering if borderline case or not. I know it's common to see little rads hung with these with no problems and this towel rad weighs probably less but it's also going to have people stuffing and pulling towels on and off?

Can anyone give me some tips on how best to drain a towel rail rad , I want to remove temporarily for tiling
the feeds are two verticals to rad valves , is it just a case of loosen the nuts and capture water as best you can , It looks like it could be seriously awkward.
cheers billy
Hi, just been doing a bathroom for a bathroom shop, first time working for them. House has no central heating so an electric towel rail was going in. When I open box it's just a standard central heating ladder towel rail, but they d sent a heating element. When I ring shop they tell me to fit it...
When we moved in to our house there was a vertical radiator in the bathroom and we'd like to switch it for a heated towel rail. However the holes for the mounting brackets in line with the central heating pipework holes at the bottom of the radiator. There doesn't seem to be any towel rails that...
Evening chaps, just wondering if this will be ok. The lady is in a flat that has a big heating system for all flats which is getting taken out. As she has just had her flat decorated she doesn't want to take up floors or wall mount pipes to put in rads and so just wants a big as shower and so a...
Hello all.
ive recently been asked to fit a towel rail with an electric element.
im wondering about the expansion issue.
The he way I see it you can either leave an air gap at top of rad.
or you can leave return valve open so water expands into heating system.
problem I've got with these...
I need to replace a leaking towel rail, but need a straight swap. The leaking one is really old and has no markings on it. Its 450 wide by 1000 high curved towel rail. I need to match the pipes coming out of the tiled wall as my customer doesn't want the tiles removed to alter anything. The pipe...

The Mrs granny has had a wet room installed in her council house, the plumbers wouldn't put a towel rail she has bought in whilst they where doing the bathroom.

Hi all, I am a non-professional trying to re-fit a small cloakroom. I am replacing an old, small towel rail with under floor heating. I am led to believe the rail was on a separate loop which is fed from the hot water supply and not the central heating. Having removed the rail I capped off the...
Hi,
I've just installed a dual fuel towel rail. I've been led to believe that the heating element should be on the flow pipe. When I installed the rail, I didn't know which pipe was flow/return (don't ask - it's a long story!). Turns out I've put the heating element on the return.
I can't...
Afternoon chaps and chappesses
I have replaced a bathroom rad with a shiny new dual fuel towel rad (Kudox)
My issue is that no matter what I do, I cannot get the element even hand tight - always about a quarter to half a turn off
If I was to tighten fully, the pipe entry would be out of line...

Easy for those in the know but can someone advise me whether I can have a water filled bathroom towel radiator with il central heating. I am sure this is the case and think this is what is in the existing radiator atm. I assume you can only get electric and water filled towel radiators?
I want to fit a new towel rail in place of radiator in bathroom. I have a Combi Boiler system.
I have closed off both valves on radiator and removed radiator from wall. With the radiator off I opened both valves but no water came out of either. Is this normal with a Combi boiler and how do I get...
