somewhere
"Somewhere", sometimes referred to as "Somewhere (There's a Place for Us)" or simply "There's a Place for Us", is a song from the 1957 Broadway musical West Side Story that was made into films in 1961 and 2021. The music is composed by Leonard Bernstein with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and takes a phrase from the slow movement of Beethoven's 'Emperor' Piano Concerto, which forms the start of the melody, and also a longer phrase from the main theme of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
Evening all,
Our boiler hasn't been doing very well recently. Just doesn't get the radiators hot at all. It was a relic of a smaller house, which was then extended. They didn't replace the boiler.
We've decided to replace the boiler and sort out some pipework, install new valves etc, but I...
Hello, really hoping someone can help ...
We've been losing pressure on our hot water system for about a year now. It worked fine over summer but now winter's kicked in we're having to top up several litres every day to keep the boiler working (it switches itself off after about half an hour...
Customer hadn't seen one and proved tricky to locate.
I know some are topped up from underneath with a couple of switches or whatever which I've managed to suss out before but couldnt spot anything for this one so I'm thinking it must have a loop somewhere else? If so I'll tell him to get...
Evening all,
Last time I posted, you achieved the impossible - you managed to talk me through a plumbing fix (I'm not exactly Mr DIY).
I need some more advice if possible. We've noticed some of the stuff in our airing cupboard has got stained by rusty water & it looks like there's a leak...
Hi all recently fitted a GoK pro internal dearator for a customer as tank approx 1.5 mtrs below 18/25 worcester wall hung boiler, has worked fine for about a month called out yeaterday as went into lockout, Lack of fuel getting to pump and full of air. I have used my fuel pump to bleed the line...
Customer goes away for 2 weeks and turns off water. When they come back and turn it on CWSC fills up for 5 minutes. CWSC just feeds cylinder which in turn feeds kitchen, basin and bath hot. No visible leaks. CWSC in good condition, no leaks, has a lid.
Must be leak on hot somewhere hidden right?
Hi all,
I noticed on the kitchen cupboard carcass that the veneer had split and mould was forming. When inspecting the inside of the cupboard was all cracked and blistered and looks like water is rising up the unit from somewhere.
The base of the cupboard is dry, and I looked under the unit...

Ever had an incident?
Just had one. With my bird and her mate and their allotment. Bloke runs in asking if anyone knows where the main tap is as he's dug a hole in the mdpe pipe in his patch. I jog back over with him to find his impressive new sprinkler going everywhere, no idea where main tap...
Hi all,
I'm planning to do a powerflushing course reasonably near me so I'm looking at either the Fernox course (at Woking) or the Kamco course (at St Albans).
Any experiences of either one? Good / bad / so-so? Any suggestions of any other powerflushing courses around?
Cheers.
Hi All,
This is my first post on the forum, and I'd be very grateful for your thoughts on a problem we have had for a month, and which we have spent several £100s on, with no success.
Despite visits from 3 plumbers/engineers, we cannot get rid of a loud screeching/groaning noise occuring...

Can anyone suggest somewhere
I'm looking to take my unvented qualification. Never did it at college as I thought no one would ever ask for em. I've now been asked for three quotes in as many weeks. Sadly my college has now stopped doing the course.
If anyone could recommend somewhere in the...
I think air is getting into the house water from the mains.
At irregular times the taps spit and gurgle. Today I re-pressurised the boiler, as soon as i opened the valved I could hear the crackling of air going in.
This has been going on for about 3 months. Lived in the house 9+years. Kinetico...
I've a gas boiler and a stove boiler. Both capable of running my heating & hot water. I'm wondering weather it will be worth the hassle/expense/savings if I try to use both via a duel coil cylinder or use one boiler for heating & one boiler for DHW or what. Have been researching for a couple of...
Hi All,
I have a Vaillant Ecotec Turbomax Pro 28E. Have lost pressure through a radiator bleeding session but am unable to fathom how to repressurise. I have read numerous posts on this but none seem to exactly describe my boiler. There is even a tutorial on YouTube but again the model...
