single pipe system
A Single buoy mooring (SrM) (also known as single-point mooring or SPM) is a loading buoy anchored offshore, that serves as a mooring point and interconnect for tankers loading or offloading gas or liquid products. SPMs are the link between geostatic subsea manifold connections and weathervaning tankers. They are capable of handling any tonnage ship, even very large crude carriers (VLCC) where no alternative facility is available.
In shallow water SPMs are used to load and unload crude oil and refined products from inshore and offshore oilfields or refineries, usually through some form of storage system. These buoys are usually suitable for use by all types of oil tanker. In deep water oil fields, SPMs are usually used to load crude oil direct from the production platforms, where there are economic reasons not to run a pipeline to the shore. These moorings usually supply to dedicated tankers which can moor without assistance.Several types of single point mooring are in use.
The single pipe system comprises 4 downstairs radiators and 7 upstairs. It has worked fine in previous years and all radiators have heated up. It has been dormant all summer and now when kicked into life all the radiators heat up except one. I have removed and flushed out the radiator (very...

Hi. Have been asked to look at a single pipe system which is out of balance. Don't have much esperience in them. The first two radiators on the circuit are hot as are two upstairs. The rest are cold or lukewarm.
What is the best method of balancing such a system?
Should the pump be on a...

The radiators in 2 of my bedrooms don't work. One is a single rad and has a thermostic valve on it (actually it has one on both the inlet and the outlet to the rad and both valves are in the max position). The other rad is in a bedroom with two rads, each of which has a thermostatic valve. The...

Hi all, this site has helped me out many times, i've tried a search but getting nothing specific to this question.
Just moved into a 1970's property, which is still in the 1970's!! after failing to successfully balance the radiators I thought I had better investigate the system to see where...

I've had quote for combi but its quite expensive as the current system is single pipe and plumber says if he connects it as it is it will breakdown in 6 months. Is this...
