I've just fitted a new combi central heating system & cannot stop the rad that is permanently on gurgling. I have bled it & even run the system with the drain valve open to try & purge any air,all to no avail?
Hi all,
I've come to the forum to ask for some advice about retro-fitting TRVs to all the rads in my house. I'm confused about fitments since when I went to buy the valves, they seemed to come in an odd size when compared to what I have at the moment.
I am pretty sure that my heating uses...

Have heard that Loctite is the new system for sealing joints and that PTFE is to be phased out. How true is this? Has anyone used the Loctite and how effective is it? I've always used PTFE. Is Loctite the way forward. Can it be used on all joints, gas and water, or is it better on some and not...

Hello all. Hope someone can help.

Basicly testing new install on a extention today when wet pump gave up on me. So got out trusty compressor and dry test kit. And got stuck in only to be gutted when I had a pressure of 3 bar to zero in five mins. So put pressure back in and went about with leak detector spray but to no avail all...
Hi, a recently fitted Magnaclean filter has started leaking and affecting the pressure of the new boiler. I can't seem to contact the fitters (surprise, surprise!) to ask for advice. Is it ok to unscrew the cap and apply some ptfe tape to the thread and would I have to bleed the Magnaclean...

can anyone help me decide how to choose between regular/ manual rad valves or thermostatic, if I want to be able to control the temperature in different parts of the house without the boiler being forced to go on pumping all the time? Or can I have a mixture of the two?

what do you guys think? i was going to try and unscrew the whole bush and put in a new one but that sounds like a bit of a mission trying to unscrew that.
Hello people, I have a problem and I wondered if I could pick your brains. I have a column radiatior with a thermostatic rad valve on the left and some sort of regulator valve on the right. The pipework leading into the right is red hot, but the far right "strand" of the radiator is only tepid...

have a problem with an exsisting rad ie. no flow.
i think the problem is the thermostatic valve.
have removed the plastic head to check the pin.
i would expect this to be sprung upwards with the force of flow but it is loose. have checked normal valve at other end which is on and have ran some...

Hi folks
I hoping someone here will be able to fix my boiler problems ...
I have just replaced a rad but it refuses to warm up. The reason being the boiler shuts off as soon as the new rad valve is opened.
I can still (and have) run all the other rads for hours with no problem but as soon...
