Polybutylene (polybutene-1, poly(1-butene), PB-1) is a polyolefin or saturated polymer with the chemical formula (CH2CH(Et))n. Not be confused with polybutene, PB-1 is mainly used in piping.

Pipes not fittings, are they all much the same, does it just come down to price, do people have preferences and why?
There is a Polybutylene PB and polyethylene PEX pipe. Both are barrier pipes for water & central heating Is one or other better for central heating. I have googled, but cant find the answer.
