cool

Coolness is an aesthetic of attitude, behavior, comportment, appearance and style which is generally admired. Because of the varied and changing connotations of cool, as well as its subjective nature, the word has no single meaning. It has associations of composure and self-control and often is used as an expression of admiration or approval. Although commonly regarded as slang, it is widely used among disparate social groups and has endured in usage for generations.

Salamander pump runs cool when tap turned down

Any idea why my hot water tap provides scolding hot when turned on full, but then turn it down and it turns cool, then turn it up full again and it's scolding again. And just to be clear, this happens all around the house on the hot water taps. They are not mixer taps, they are hot-only...

TRV pipe cold. Return pipe hot. Rad hot at top, cool at bottom.

Our kitchen rad is hot at the top but quite a bit cooler at the bottom. It was very cold at the bottom until the other day when e had a heating engineer to take off the rad and blast the inside with a hosepipe to clean out the built-up gunge. Anyway, now we have the TRV valve and pipe below it...

Hi guys and girls, I'm a first time poster so apologies if my knowledge comes across a tad green. My system is a standard boiler system (i.e. not a combi). I've got an issue where my radiators downstairs are cooler than the ones upstairs. The upstairs ones are nice and hot but the downstairs...

Ladder rad with auto air release valve cool. Why?

I have a tall ladder radiator in my bathroom that has an auto release valve fitted but still goes cool a couple of weeks after bleeding. My plumber says that it is due to the dirt and sediment in my central heating system that keeps blocking up the valve. Surely these valves are made to operate...
