Hi all,
hoping for a bit of advice, I have a customer who has a non-condensing oil combi boiler and would like me to connect another ordinary boiler with a vegetable oil burner to the heating circuit, to cut down on his oil bill in the winter. I've used a dunsley neutraliser before to connect...
Hi
I have just bought a compression tee from Screwfix and need assistance on how to connect it to the existing cold wate rpipe.
Do I simply isolate the water, remove the current tap and replace the new compression tee?
Do I need a specialist tool to remove the exisiting tee?
Do I need to...
Don't take my word for it s I am often wrong but I'm sure old ACOP excluded this from work definition.
New draft ACOP now defines this as work - which is good because there is a GSR TB that defines it as work.
See daft ACOP 33 & 34.
Let me know if I am wrong because i don't want to spread...

Hi all,
I've purchased 3 x vertical rads (H:1800mm x 600mm). I couldn't stand looking at the surface mounted pipes running from ceiling to floor, so I decided to bury the pipework into the walls.
I was advised to channel out a chase around 20/25mm in the wall, which I have done, this chase runs...

I am GSR but have little experience of solid fuel, your patience would be appreciated. A customer has asked me to disconnect two rads from her gas fired centarl heating and connect onto her wood burning stove circuit. Currently the rayburn feeds via 28mm pipework a cylinder , cut into the...
I need to connect my standard ½" hosepipe to a supposedly ¾" outside tap.
I just bought a new ¾" connector but it's slightly too small and won't screw onto the thread of the tap.
I would simply replace the tap if it were mine, but that is impossible in the circumstances.
Getting a ¾" hosepipe is...

Well.. after a rogue builder left us in chaos... I am trying to pick up the pieces with zero funds...:banghead:

Hi,
I am new to this forum, but have searched through as many of the posts to see if anyone has had the same confusion as me.
I basically have a very reliable Potterton Puma 80e that had an old analogue electrotimer that ended up ticking very loudly.
I purchased a replacement Grassling...
Hi
When I screw the water connection back on to the float valve thread under the cistern, there is a leak when I turn the water back on. There are 3 fibre washers filling the gap.
Does anyone know what I could do to stop the leak?
Thanks you

Will standard 110mm fittings fit round the gerbeit fusion weld pipe ? And the likes of the reducers do they all fit ? Or have you got to use the band seal type rubber fittings?
as the title says really where does it connect to on the boiler, all the wiring diagram for the control box says is earth, nuteral and switch live. where do you take them from on the boiler do they come off the room stat connections on the boiler?

I need to fit an elbow to the end of a radiator... (no valve needed, the valve is on a manifold)
Simple but untidy option:
use 1/2"M to 15mm coupler, then a short bit of pipe to a 15mm to 15mm elbow
A possibly better option would be to screw a 1/2"M to 15mm elbow straight into the radiator -...
About a month ago I posted a thread about connecting plastic to cast iron soil pipe. Into the collar I was asking about. But after finding out it was 31/2 inch I had to just use a French on the lead coming out of it. But now, I have one that is 4inch and so I cut the cast iron back to a...
