I am going to fit a monobloc mixer to one hole in the basin to replace the two existing taps. Online supplier told me the new tap would fit a standard hole, however my holes look to be 30mm and I estimate I need it to be 40mm. I can't return the tap so I need any advice on how to safely enlarge the hole?
Or maybe I blank these two and drill another in the centre?
Thanks in advance.

Try 365 drills.

Not sure the response you gave was necessary though!

Your are very welcome, but what do you expect? If you are doing a job it's always worth doing it properly.

By the time you"ve bought something to widen the hole and the fact the tap will be off to one side just go and buy a 50 quid b&q to go basin instead of bodging something up,

Get a hammer and a chisel and BOOM BOOM BOOM! (Check your guns)

There we go, you have now enlarged your tap holes ;)

Your very welcome on my advice, i love you and goodnight :)

it's an ebay special isn't it? why won't it fit, do you need more space to fit the feed pipes through? one solution would be to feed the pipes up through the hole and attach them to then tap.

C'mon guys...

Look at my post... Isnt this the correct method on how to tackle this bad boy? ;)

Thought it was a help forum, obviously not everybody thinks so. Thanks to those that did help and goodbye to those too superior.

this is a friendly forum some members have a wierd sense of humour although advice given has mostly been sound.

Could always ream it out with your old john Thomas, but I think the holes too big to start with.
