Hi guys' quick question who is actually allowed to take off a boiler cover? i always though recently you had to be even corgi registered to do this...

second question... whos job would you say it was to put the correct room stat on? one heating guy really annoyed me off recently...

I would say it depends on the boiler. If the cover is also the combustion chamber cover then you should be gsr to remove.

But one of the gsr guys will confirm or blow me out the water :)

I agree with above

Room stat wise I'd get a heat eng to do it. Sparks are clueless (in general) when it comes to central heating wiring

its difficult if you get a electrician... how does he know if he can touch the boiler... my room stat wasnt working was wrong completely

had a drayton combi-stat wire into biasi 24s as two wire (should have been 3wire or a volt-free stat as combi stat needs 24 volt)

i found out this info from manufactures... the heating guy didnt have a clue... i e-mailed him after paying him that eh should know this info... he really annoyed me. he basically put the wrong stat on.

i honestly had no clue what was wrong just the stat didnt work properly...

he did nothing i had to fix the problem by getting on to manufactures.

in the end i did it... i acturally didnt know who to contact sparky/electrician.

Sounds like in-experience on his part

yes the way i see it its his fault... he owe me (not that im going to get it back) £70quid... i wasnt that what annoyed me he acted like he wanted nothing to do with it.... i was easy on him as i was unsure myself.... thats when i e-mailed company. his e-mail back wasnt even supporting me when i said he was in the wrong.

of course he wouldn't put in writing that he was in the wrong

another thing these are really common makes.... i acturally think a few people could have got this wrong dont know why just seems abit unclear....
