Hi guys just wanted your views, i still get the odd faulty thermocouples on BBU,s in ex council houses or replacing them in a service of the BBU,s ,, and a while back i ordered some off the internet and they were quite cheap compared to what they used to be , anyhow i found them to at best pants, and a couple of them simply didnt work , just wondered where you guys purchase them at or do you just buy them as you need them at local merchants, im away to order some in today, so just wanted your views, cheers Kris

Ment to say just standard 600mm universal ones ,

We just go to the merchants but we get the nickle coated ones, think thats what there coated with cos they last longer.

Yeh you can get them nickle coated ,

That's news to me. I'll hav to remember that, thanks. I usually just pick up a few universals at a time. Run low or out and go again

Same here , last batch i bought had couple faulty ones so ive just ordered some from here,

Only thermocouples i do these days are brittany t2 and main mersey super but i aint even dine one those in over 12 months.

There's still a few ex councils up this way with the old Faithfull b u.

BES for most of mine, or HWOS for aga ones, I dont like universals as they dont seem to last as long as the honeywell types etc. mind you for only £3 or so none are that expensive, till I charge for them :)

Ah yes lame plumber I'd say there's a wee mark up on d £3 alright.
kris what ye were saying about new faulty thermocouples, that's a pain in d neck. Put 1 in, it's faulty, another 1. That's faulty too. Ye start to think its d gas valve. That could send ye up d wrong street if ye catch me drift.
