When this hot water lever tap is turned on it takes a lot of wiggling and twisting to get it to turn off. It's about 15 years old and it'd probably be better to change the whole thing but out of interest, what do you think it is that's causing it? Just a washer or something like that?

It will be the ceramic quarter turn cartridge inside the tap. Looking at the state of it its time for a new tap as akl of the orings have gone and it has cleatly been leaking from the swivel spout joint and the tap heads.

Yes the whole thing needs replacing. Even the screw on top of the tap has sheared so I can't even get it off. Cheers.
