Fan outlet seal on potterton suprima 50l

Hi all, I'm new to the gas game & the forum so go easy on me guys. Now it may sound a silly question but does anybody know which way round the fan outlet rubber seal goes into the flue outlet on the potterton suprima 50l. The rubber seal is conical in profile and logic would suggest it acts like a wedge to create the seal from the fan into the flue outlet... thin end upwards fat end at bottom. Am I wrong in thinking this. M Ins state make sure you insert it correctly but don't state which way ??
