image.jpg Went to a job yesterday fixed the boiler charged £275 for replacing the diverter and the prv got a huge text with this pic this is how you left my boiler I want £ 500 and compo unreal some people are really crazy

Apparently he fixed it in ten mins for £50

Was an easy fix for £50 as you done all the hard work the day before!

And I would say it is your business to know who attended after you, and has stated that your standard of work in poor and that you should be reported to GS, I would go as far as to say to the custard that if he is unwilling / unable to produce the report issued by the other GS engineer, then you can state that you will disregard all claims he has and pass it on the appropriate authorities for the offence of obtaining funds by means of deception / fraud and the like.

I can't believe this! Some people really do live on another planet. I'd ignore it. Gas safe wont be interested and there's insufficient evidence for trading standards to get involved. Send them a dog turd as a token gesture.

Even if you did leave the boiler like that surely the fact the gas pipe is disconnected and capped off means that it's unusable therefore safe , leaving you in the clear regarding gas safe no ?

You could always say you need to get in to make sure the boiler is safe, and then when they refuse ring transco (gas transporter) and report a dangerous appliance that the custard wont allow you entry to the property to make safe and see what happens!

No Nonsense Expanding Foam Hand-Held 750ml | NoLinkingToThis

Not recommended, etc. etc.

Turn off the stopcock, poke one for two cans in, then some post crete.

wait till they bust it out and get a shower of yellow foam......

Like it Killy! My favourite is still the plastic svp one, slide the clip up drill a 10mm hole empty a couple of tins of foam in slip clip back down jobs a goodun

Its surprising as you read though different post the amount of unorthodox uses for expanding foam there are!!

replaced bath and basin taps for a customer two yrs ago. Sometime in September, I got a call from a number I did not recognise.
ring ring, ring ring,

Me: hello
Caller: Is that village idiot? I am at the house, have done power flushing and nothing is working now. You connected the taps the wrong way, can you come over straight away please?
Me: What property is it? Can I talk to the customer?
Customer: Hello, how are you. It is me. This chap said you did the job all wrong. Two days after you fitted the bath taps, we were not able to use it but I decided to just leave it at that. Now my boiler is not working. You have caused a lot of damage to my ceiling. I am very upset.

Well, I went into overdrive. I gave her so much abuse then turned off my phone. She left a voice-mail saying I am a bad person. As far as I am concerned, I have nothing against her. The person who got off lightly was the 'supposed Gas Engineer'. If I had known in advance what property exactly he was calling from, I would have given him a taste of my tongue. If he did not know what he was doing, he should not go around power flushing peeps CH systems.

Back to the OP, as for the state in which you left the boiler, their first port of call was to ask you to come and sort it out, not get someone else in to sort it. You do not pay someone to do a job, then immediately get someone else to ''finish'' it? They called you to do a job. If the job was not finished, why not wait for you? Why get someone else in? Taking the pizz

That's devious... i like it

Wow, I cannot believe what I am seeing. The actual cheek of some people beggers belief. I hooe you're alright feller. We do not need stress like this in our job. It is tough enough already

call transco and inform them of the issue and photo, such that its id and pop a form through their letter box as well, just to be legal

Did this once where quoted a boiler in garage below loft space bathroom. House I was quoting didn't want vertical flue due to fact they had to keep velux shut so poc from next door didn't come in (600) below velux. Transco went out as no one in next door I put notice through door.... Got v/m from plumber who was irate........ Strangely when I called him back it was the neighbour who answered but he was still there after 1h and then the following day........ DIY MUPPETS. rIddor any one?

Had x7 text this morning theats ect I just rang them told them to do one haven't herd anything back

You could call police as it's harrasment. Plod won't care about contract issues as that's civil but threatening and harnessing behaviour can nett the muppets as asbo for personal attack.

Pjf I had a customer like this once was to do with a bathroom that was bodged by one plumber I came in to sort it out (shoulda known better) the relationship between her and me went wrong she was real pain worst I've ever dealt with, anyway she was going to ring the richmond council (don't really know why) and report me to the taxman for doing cash work as she had pictures and videos of me receiving the cash !! People like these are morons full of $hit and meaningless threats it's not nice when you're on the end of it though. So all I can say to you is leave em to it, read their texts and laugh! But keep them just incase, ignore their voice calls and let them leave stupid voicemails eventually they'll get bored and realise you're not gonna bite

Stay strong mate, i know it's upsetting as i had a similar issue a couple of years back but nothing happened about that :)

unfortunately i have had incidents like this over the years mainly because i live by plymouth a notourious tight bum city where peeps try it on all the time.

usually i resort to a threat along the lines of any more of this crap and your going through your front room window

all an unfortunate part of being a tradesman

Nothing illegal about accepting cash as payment.

Tell us your Yell profile and we'll leave you loads of good reviews. Make the custard look like a pratt!

They have had no receipt or paper works from me I've contacted yell they said its up to me to contact the w£-&19383£s to remove the review. I've made a complaint and I'm calling them in the morning I livid I pay good money for this ad

I would be contacting them and threatening to sue for defamation of character and lost business through their inaccurate review.

Is is that how it works masood. ??? How do I do this ??

I don't know to be honest, but if you have loads of excellent reviews and one crap one, then people will realise that the reviewer was probably the unreasonable one..
