hello just a quick question please if you can help please the manufactures state the ratio should for vokera excell 25 boiler should be below 0.004 if I get a reading for 0.0012 is this a good reading?

Not too sure of the exact mi on this boiler but 0.0012 is lower than 0.004

Alan are you a gas safe engineer

I think this is because cpa1 is now part of the ccn1 and not its own entity and being explained as well. It should be made known to the examination boards that this is happening.

I mean this with the greatest of respect to anyone reading, but surely the ratios and the tolerances involved are fairly straightforward

I suppose really it's more a mathematical issue and understanding decimals, that'd once you know which way it should go to be better or worse results.

I agree that people need to know how to work safely, but to a point this is a basic maths issue rather than gas safety, I have advised students to add a zero to the 0.004 reading to have the same amount of digits in each reading, to see if this helps, when done you then ask is 12 less than 40? Which seems to help some

I have the odd moment where I scare myself with a reading. Then look again and see how many zeros are there.

As a recently graduated GS, I do find the ratio with several places behind the decimal point, sometimes a double or triple take. BTW my maths skills are more than adequate. Its the visual element for me
