Hi, I have a white buildup around the value on a radiator, does anyone have any advice as to what is causing this? I have attached a photo.
I should add that the raditor itself is not heating.
Thanks

I would really appreciate your view on this underfloor heating set-up.
I’m experiencing what sounds like a knocking noise from the manifold/pipework (can’t tell which) for a few seconds whenever the underfloor heating zones are switched on, so am wondering if it’s an issue with a valve or...
Made me think of a Martin Amis quote about burgling and that it could be re-done about plumbing so I googled it and changed the word burgling for plumbing. Kinda works
“Little did they know that the place they were about to plumb -- the shop, and the flat above it -- had already been plumbed...
The customer dosen't want to change the cast iron bath but it has rust around the plug waste hole. It dosent look good and is difficult to clean.
I've suggested touching up the bath with some repair enamel paint but now am not sure which product to use. Some of the product reviews are not good...
Quicker, cheaper and cleaner than any other method of sealing a hole where a pipe exits the wall.
No more messy mortar, expanding foam or silicone.
Installed in seconds in any weather
Safe solution when working at height from a ladder
Increases ease of installation by securing pipework...

Hello, my customer has started to experience blue staining around the rim of the bath. PH reads 7.25 - normal for here. Harveys dualflow water softener installed. Un-vented DHW system. House is around 15 years old, no recent / new copper pipes fitted. All other piping is copper. I'm considering...
Hi All,
I am currently renovating my house (first home) and what started as a bit of paint has somehow escalated.....so, on the list of current jobs is central heating and radiators throughout. I've hung most of the radiators and chased down walls in three locations (for downstairs radiators)...
Hello,
As can be seen in photo, there appears to be leak from the overflow pipe on the wall. As the exterior wall is wet could the water be coming out from a leak before it reaches the end of the overflow pipe? Haven't seen any water coming out when flushing, seems to be happening overnight...
Hi all.
I have three radiators in my house that are not warming up at all, the other radiators are hot. All the valves (they aren't thermostatic) are open on the three cold rads, and each have in-pipes that are hot to the touch, but the radiators themselves are uniformly cold. Bleeding the...
I am receiving conflicting advice on whether the fill and expansion pipes on our new system are the wrong way around and the cause of air noise at the pump weeks after installation as well as the magnaclean keep gaining air.
We frequently get air bubbling noise in the pump even after repeated...
I have a Combi boiler (Main 30HE) in a house that I bought just under 3 years ago, that's not been serviced since I bought the place (yeah, I know).
I've noticed it dripping from the bottom, so I got an engineer round, who's said because it's not got sufficient clearance, he can't work on it...
We're trying to fit a bathroom in the top floor (front bedroom) of our victorian house. We have a problem in that the bathroom on the middle floor is located at the back, so we can't use the same soil pipe. Fitting a new soil pipe to the side of the house is near impossible because it would have...

However the wash hand basin and bath always have a scum left around them after draining like you expect in a hard water area. All types of soap, same result.
I have a combi boiler, an Ideal, previous...
