Hi every1 can someone answer these questions please?
1) Why does the Diaphragm ball valve have an air gap and why is it better than the Portsmouth Ball Valve?
What fittings are used for the following?

Hi
Just wondered if somebody could give me some advice.
I've got to move a toilet from it's current position and I can't move the soil pipe on the outside of the house as it runs under the roof a lean to extension.
I was thinking about putting a 90 degree bend onto the soil pipe...

Bodge the builder, can you fix it?
Bodge the builder, no I bloody well can't!!!
Well I am thinking of posting picture of some of 'Bobs' work here, seeing how it is so bad, plus much of my work is correcting it!
How often do I here the cry: 'the landlord did it, he is a builder'?

Hi All,
Can anyone advise me if there is a minimum distance between multiple boss connections into a stub soil stack where they all enter the stack on one side? Unfortunately I can't get a manifold in the space available.
I want to connect 2 x 40mm (1 x 40mm for double kitchen sink and 1 x...

Hi from a newbie to this forum:)
I'm a sparks and been so for coming up 30 years; (sh*t) that's a long time, makes me feel old.
With work being in short supply I've turned to some DIY in my own house; I hope, like many, things will pick up soon.
Not sure if I should post here for the advice...

Yes its October 2010 and the Grand Designs road-show is back in town for three days.
All plumbers need a day off with the family.... Maybe come and look for some new tools or even some new ideas about what is going on in the plumbing market as well as other markets too! Something for everyone...
We recently had a new combi boiler fitted in our kitchen. The installer used a rubber adapter to fit the condensate pipe directly into a 40mm boss on an adjacent soil pipe (the adaptor is a rubber ring with ridges around the outside and inside).
Now, before putting drywall over this area...

Thought I'd start a new thread for how to fit out my upstairs bathroom.
It's at studwork stage with most of the first fix pipework there (hot/cold sticking out of walls but no waste pipes yet).
I've started to add noggins for things like loos/basins/extractors etc and was wondering about...

I need some advice on the best way to join into an existing cast iron waste pipe that runs just off the horizontal along the inside of the eaves of the house.

We live in a second floor flat, with one more floor above ours. Our kitchen sink drains into a 40mm PVC pipe that goes directly to a soil stack about 1.5 meters away. In our flat, the kitchen sink is the only drain connected to this soil stack (there's a separate one for the bathroom). However...
Hi, i know this is not really allowed, but, i am wondering if its possible to put a 40mm washing machine waste into the waste 32mm waste connection on a 110mm pan connector?
I would reduce the 40mm to 32mm as close to the boss as possible.
I look forward to your advice. Regards
Mutley.

Hi folks,
I am going to replace kitchen sink waste pipe with metric. This however feeds into an imperial soil stack. Last time I did this I found the smaller metric pipe didn’t seal properly. What’s the correct procedure?
Thanks in advance.
hi guys, after a bit of advice here. just installed a vanity unit, from plumbworld - came with a concealed cistern. The pipe from the cistern to the bowl seemed to be 40mm at one end, and 32 at the other. The seal that goes into the pan is a black finned type.

Hi
