    Baxi 133 HE venturi removal.

No I'm not. I'm a property renovator that does all my own electric and gas work and then gets the local EIC/Gas safe company in to check it and provide the certificates I need for rental. Never had a single issue with either electrical or gas inspections. Graham.

    Baxi 133 HE venturi removal.

Hi, I need to replace the fan unit on a 133 HE plus combi. Unscrew the two wing nuts so I can lower the fan and the venturi. The question is, is it a matter of simply pulling the venturi away from the gas pipe (whilst supporting it) as only the 100 and 80 models appear to have a grub screw to...

    Tundish on unvented cylinder.

Howsie, Pictures attached. I have no problem with using Building Control to inspect my work as I have done that before with my electrics. You will note that the installation is not live yet as the immersions heaters are not connected and there is a stop end on the drain off. I can describe the...

    Tundish on unvented cylinder.

I also find it interesting that I have several 'Gas Safe' people who have worked with me before and they are all happy to work with me again. Not a single one has criticised my work nor believes I am taking their business from them. Mr. Moderator, if you beleive I am out f order, I will delete...

    Tundish on unvented cylinder.

I'm not going to argue but if you read what Building Regulations define as a 'Competent Person', it is not somehow who has a 'tick in the box', but someone who can work to an acceptable standard. That is not illegal; it would be if I rented out a property without the relevant certificates, but...

    Tundish on unvented cylinder.

I am a competent engineer that fits water, electricity and gas into the properties I renovate to rent. I always get them inspected afterwards to provide me with the appropriate certificate and have never had a single negative comment about any of my properties, in fact I usually get comments...

    Tundish on unvented cylinder.

Hi, I have recently fitted a Telford Tempest Hot water cylinder, heated purely by 2 immersion heaters. I have fitted it with the required 'blow off' piping which includes a small Tundish. Obviously, the Tundish needs to be open to the air, rather than fully enclosed, but if you test the...
