I have a new pup and want to take him with me so hes not alone during the day. Anyone have any tips for me im worried hell eat my new van upholstery

Leave it alone for 15 minutes in your new van and you could come back to .......
Chewed up seats, steering wheel, handbrake, both door handles and any papers it can get hold of and that little lot is not gonna agree with it`s stomach so a little present left on your seat is not out of the question either. Also better check the electric windows don`t work with the key in your pocket or he might not be there when you come back. If you do do it then remember to leave the window open enough for some fresh air to circulate as it can get hot in a van very quickly.

Not bein funny, but you should have thought about this before gettin a dog. Get a foldable cage for the back, make sure its got plenty of water, get a battery powered fan and hope the poor little booger aint dead when you done work

The police and the RSPCA can break a window if a dog is suffering from heat inside a locked vehicle and the owner will be taken to court.

Not saying he would do that tho obviously. My dog sleeps all day. If I rattle his lead he runs and hides. Good boy!

I wouldn't, I hate seeing a dog stuck in a vehicle, even with the windows left open they still get too hot to keep a dog in, IMO.

Get up a good hour early and take them out for a good walk and tire them out.

Depending on what sort of properties your working in really,
I knew a spark who took his lab to work but he was mainly in empty houses or his own properties so he'd just let it walk round the house or in the garden

I take mine out in the winter with me on days where i'm out and about and going back to the van a fair bit. Wouldn't do it in the summer though for obvious reasons.

my intention was when i got him.
more than likely pee and poo all over and bite customers leg off though so stays at home to bother postman!.

Used to takemine on a night sometimes but shes all over the place in the van and insists on sitting at the wheel as per my avatar so dont bother anymore

sorry guys had a rush of work and couldnt reply. Majority of my work is breakdowns service and emergency plumbing so never in a job more than 2 hours. Hes only a mini yorkshire terrier so wont do much other than sleep and wait for me to return im guessing ha .. grew up with labs and hated to see them at home bored all day :(

I took winston to the office everyday. He sat in gate house with guard and the other guard took him out on his wall arounds. He was amazingly well socialised.

Get a crate.

DO NOT leave the dog in the van he will cook!
