I'm looking to upgrade my central heating system with Tado, however my system has two controllers which can fire up the boiler independently and I don't understand why. One controller is for the hot water plus the downstairs underfloor heating with multiple zones controlled by thermostats, the other controller controls the upstairs radiators on a single thermostat. I'm happy to change all the thermostats for Tado Smart wired thermostats but don't know if the Tado controller will be compatible based upon the existing system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

3 zones

I’m guessing upstairs heating zone
Downstairs heating zone
Cylinder / hot water zone

So you will need two kits or one that has 3 zones

Hi thanks for the reply,

The downstairs controls underfloor heating that has six zones with independent thermostats so I know I'll need to replace these with wired smart units and also replace the upstairs thermostat with a 7th wired unit, what I don't know is if these will all operate off a single controller?

Can I have these as 7 different zones off a single controller?

Of a timed control yes but not a room stat you still have 3 timed controls

Hello mate, I have Tado at home, seems good so far but has its limitations.

Drayton Wiser is worth looking at IMO. It is cheaper, has better smart TRV's and actually can control underfloor properly too. The wiser system also has a very good signal and any powered devices such as a smart plug become signal boosters and help with all the wireless stuff. You can have loads of devices on it too.

They also have an electric heat switch for switching things with higher amps.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
