Apologies for this coming up so late, but I have only just had the go-ahead from the manufacturer.

Perhaps it means that a different set of members will get the freebies?

Reviewing any past freebie is NOT a requirement for this one, but you do have to be a forum regular, and PM me your snail mail address.

I have an fairly large supply of these freebies which are some samples of the new SQUBE copper tube, and a starter pack of fittings.

Long lengths of tube are quite awkward to send by carrier, so the freebie lengths will be the 1800mm version that they make for the DIY stores.

Following the passing of EU directive 10413, from April 1st 2014 the use of high capacity, square section, thick wall tube will be a mandatory requirement for all renewable applications attracting government subsidy.

On the continent, these have been around for a while, particularly in Eastern europe, and SQUBE is the only square section tube currently meeting all european regs.

Overall, I quite like the look of it, although I am not sure if the compression fittings are going to catch on - tightening the square thread requires a specialist spanner and some practice.

Looking to the future, I suppose we have to get used to new ideas, so this is your chance to be amongst the first to work with the latest plumbing technology.

PM me a snail mail address to book your freebie now, but I might not answer until the morning, since its getting late. PMs wil be taken in the order of arrival in my inbox until we run out of freebies.

Cheers

Ray

Mate i cant face telling him ! Nothing been mentioned since but i know for a fact it will come around some time !

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

This all because me taking the mick out of u on that washing machine valve thread ?

Now even more interested !

That fella in the stolen boiler thread, he called you Wirral Squirrel didn't he? So that's a square headed squirrel.

I thought you were actually playing along in this thread until you owned up.

I didn't PM Ray, but I fell for it. The penny slowly dropped, but it took a while.

Nah i was taken in by rays evil ways !

Seeing that the first joke of the day was a poster on the village noticeboard advertising an Ann Summers party hosted by the WI at the Church Hall, I wasn't likely to be taken in.

I remember one of the papers on 1st April used to put a story on the front page about the EU or something like that made out to be an April Fools which was actually true just to prove a point.

Well today was the day ! Went to a site walk around to plan a build next 2 months and there they where all asking about this new square copper ! There is a bit where the pipework is on show in the restaurant and to be honest square pipe would look amazing. And my friend/boss turns round and says we will try and get that square stuff ! Do that do a reducer type thing to go from round normal copper to the square stuff ! Well i was already on the floor crying with laughter !

But seriously ray do you sell the converters to get from round tube to the square stuff ?

Sqube strikes again! Another victim in my inbox brings the bodycount to 13.

I wonder how much longer this will go on?

If it continues to be this popular, you are actually going to have to find someone who can manufacture/supply square tube!! LOL

i thought i was going to be the numpty again when this resurfaced but i played it out as my own april fools joke ! so i looked pretty good ! ray spill the beans who was it ?

SQube has been a runaway success - as an idea for an April fool it was
really just a punt. However 3360 views is a record for the time schedule on UKPF - Croppie will verify this I hope.

And you know what ? NOBODY got grumpy about being scammed - is was all fun.

Ray, Croppie and myself are all going to Rays island hideaway
next April (to escape retribution) were there is limitless drink, a cornucopia of every type of meal you might imagine and other delights..............!

When you spend £1000 per week 52x at Williams this is what happens
just before every Easter - flights are free from anywhere...to Where ? answers to Ray

This is Ray's next competition
