Hi all,
I run a scheme (Red Ochre, Skills for Green Jobs) where where we send unemployed young people (under 30-ish) to volunteer in environmental organisations in Seville, Spain. They don't get paid, but they get everything (accomodation, bills, flights etc...) paid for.
We've had two people...

I know experience is more important that qualifications. However we are testing a really quite new
(wet) solar panel for an outfit that is going to put them into production in New Year.
They will need teams or fitters to carry out the plumbing side in the houses. what qualifications are
about...
This is a new area to me but anyway because API 2006 is now involved in this area (due to a product we are developing)
with Sentinel and Saint Gobain we will need to set up a specification for enginners to fit the set up.
So please - whats the qualification we will need to get from the sub...
I have a Worcester Greenstar 40 HE combi and want to fit solar thermal, The only way I can see is using a Solar combi diverter valve with a pre heat tank. Does anyone have any other ideas on this?
Thanks
Dear Solar Thermal Installer
MCS has recently become aware of a number of products that are being sold into the UK market with Solar Keymark approval specified as Thermodynamic Panels that initially would appear to fit into the scope of MIS3001. In most cases these collectors are typically...
There are loads of the Unvented Cylinders on the market but which is the best?
I'm after a twin coil so I can plumb solar heating into it, indirect unit fed from boiler, 210 litres as I have a space constaint.
What do people with the knowledge and experience think.......who make the best...
Can anyone recommend a decent twin coil horizontal unvented cylinder, suitable for solar and a gas boiler?
It needs to go in the loft space and therefore needs to be a horizontal cylinder.
Have seen some Thermsaver cylinders online and they look ok - anyone have experience of these?
As Britain and other industrialised nations become increasingly hooked on solar energy, our reliance on the sun could see the country sucked into unwinnable wars, and sleepwalking into the dark ages, claimed controversial author Tony Harrington at the launch of his new book, ‘The Nights are...
hi, a customer has asked if i can install another cylinder into their solar system as the water is not always hot enough. not been to look at the system yet
but don't the system usually have a way to heat the water other than solar, maybe a immersion, just wondering what is the usual cause for...
Hi, I am wanting to buy a 250lt unvented indirect solar cylinder. Can anyone advise me on a particular make. I need to choose between Telford or Albion for around £900 or Santon for £1000 or the Megaflow for £1200. I know the Megaflow is the 'market leader' but are they really worth the extra...
I carried out a boiler service at a property today and he was moaning about his solar not heating his pool very well. My response was I have never worked on solar so cant help. Anyway got talking to him and had a look at what he had (Wasnt going to touch it as I wouldnt know where to start and...
Hi,
I'm a complete novice so would really appreciate some help.
I went to see a customer who asked me about his solar hot water system. Thermo max tubes on the roof, a 130ltr vented cylinder, pump station, micro bore pipe work and cooking oil as the heating material.
System installed in 2009...
Hi Group
Had a sales man today call and quote for a 1 flat plate solar thermal system.
And a 200 litre pressurised tank.
He recommended Oventrop over Bosch and quoted for both?
The Oventrop system came to a slightly higher price.
Thanks for your views
Iain
