Want to install secondary hot return - need advice please

The want of a secondary return is primarily to stop the waste of water, secondary is the speed. I measured it yesterday when I got up (so not been used all night) . It takes 30 seconds to get hot water out of the hot tap from cold but I have to run off nearly 3.5 litres of cold. Also, our mains...

Want to install secondary hot return - need advice please

Hello everyone! I'm finally getting to do my own bathroom renovation (spend most of my time doing everyone else's). The bathroom is on the ground floor and the hot water cylinder is at the other side of the house on the first floor. The house isn't huge but I'm sick of running the hot tap and...

Hand made copper tap - swivel action?

Yeah that was my intention but In Ireland nearly everything plumbing is imperial. I got end feed fittings (which were 22mm) but they were quite loose on the 3/4” (21mm) copper pipe so I had to use the 3/4” solder fittings. Shame really

Hand made copper tap - swivel action?

Okey dokey. I’ll fit one on the hot side. It’s not finished yet anyway as the customer is oiling the oak counter for the next week

Hand made copper tap - swivel action?

Yeah that’s what I thought. How much would a non return valve restrict the hot pressure though?

Hand made copper tap - swivel action?

Well the hot is gravity (about 5m head) but the cold is pumped from a well. I did want to put non-return valves though but the pressure in the hot ain’t great and I thought they might not work?

Hand made copper tap - swivel action?

Hi everyone! I've just made a kitchen tap for a customer. She's delighted with it as it is but its wrecking my head that it doesn't swivel. I can't imagine a fitting that I could have soldered in that would give a water tight swivel action and equally as important, keeps that all copper look...

Need urgent help - towel rail on single pipe system

I had planned on fitting a TRV yes. Then I read about low resistance TRVs needed. Can't imagine I'll get those too easy in Ireland. Sorry for my ignorance but do you mean an auto bypass VALVE on the link pipe between the two tee's to the locksheilds/TRV?? As in an auto bypass valve you would...
