    Soil Vent Connection

I have to connect the UPVC pipe to the ground. There's a connection of sorts there already. The rubber gasket there has perished but I don't seem to easily find a replacement. Even if I did, the old UPVC pipe I have doesn't fit tightly in there and presumably never did. My question is, does...

Radiators Question - Should I Change Them?

The rooms are cold, yes but I was wondering if it's because the new radiators do cool down more quickly. So I guess you've answered the question. Thanks. Maybe being naive, but I can't help thinking the "old" radiators are better, though.

Radiators Question - Should I Change Them?

Hi, I had a new boiler (Baxi Duotec) installed with radiators a while ago. One room stays fairly warm and that has one of the original rads in it. All the others were replaced and the other rooms seem to not stay so warm. I said at that the time, this seems to keep the heat for longer and he...

Waste End Stop Cap - Newbie Question

Hi, This should be a really simple question for a plumber so here goes. Underneath the kitchen sink is a fitting for a dishwasher waste pipe. However, there's no dishwasher at the moment. Occasionally, water comes out of there. What's the best way of capping this, please? I tried using one of...

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

Thanks everyone. It looks like I'll be phoning a different plumber in the new year.

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

There's no room stat. The plumber thinks they're unnecessary and thinks the heating is best controlled by TRVs.

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

They were replaced with similar sized radiators. As far as I know he didn't do a heat loss calculation. There are a couple of concrete floors so that made it difficult. I may get another plumber round for his advice.

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

The radiators were nearly all replaced. The pipework is pretty much the same.

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

I'll check but from I remember seem to be hot all the way through the radiator. Maybe just not hot enough. Can the plumber adjust the CH output on a combi?

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

Hi all. Thanks for the replies. Stat is set to 80. These are almost all single radiators. Boiling is pretty much continuously on. When the system was installed, the bathroom radiator was luke warm. He then balanced them and they've all been a similar temperature since but the ones in the...

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

Hi, I've just had a Baxi Duotec 28 fitted. I've got 7 radiators and the plumber said for this 2 bedroom bungalow it should be fine. Because it's winter I've had the the thermostatic valves fully open. All the radiators seem to get quite hot but I've found that shutting off a couple of radiators...
