Aye it is. I won't name them in open forum because of the nature of the companies we work for and because we're in Northern Ireland.

Ah ok I'm sure I will hear it at some point in the future.

I've a box of mambas I the van there great . There strong and don't tear easily . Great for when ripping out old pipework or workin on bathrooms.

Reason I ask is that LACO appears to be banned in some USA states as it causes cancer.
Got this info from an old post here:
http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/g...s-your-preferred-gas-jointing-compound-2.html

Everything in the States may cause cancer.

I installed a RPZ valve the other week and there was a sticker to put on the valve that stated that products used in the manufacturing of this valve may cause cancer.

Pity ... its required for potable water supply.

As for gloves - depends on your fetish.

I wish I was wearing gloves today! Just spent the day servicing Powermax 155s that haven't been served in a long time. Trying to drag the turbulators out from underneath! :32:

I use these

24 PAIRS NYLON PU COATED SAFETY WORK GLOVES GARDEN GRIP MENS BUILDERS GARDENING | eBay

Hands don't sweat because the back is vented. If I'm working on something really messy I'll get the black mambas out but not for too long as they make my hands sweat.
Plus one on these you can even use your smartphone with them on. But they are a pain when you get them wet so have a few pairs on the go and just put the wet ones on the radiator by the door when i get home.
