Where's the best place to buy a ridge ladder? Been looking online but not sure! Or does everyone just hire them as and when?

B&q get a collapsible one for £130. It's a youngman one so good enough for the odd flue. We also have a rigid 5.8m one with extension for when it's s biggun

Lyte TRL150 Single Roof Ladder 4.97m | Roof Ladders | NoLinkingToThis

Ridge as in roof, for the prices I've seen them it makes sense to buy not hire. Just not sure what is a good buy and what's gonna bend when I step on it.

Cheers KB I'm looking at the 2 section 5.64m for £154, much cheaper on that site.

There is nothing light about Lyte roof ladders.
They are a fkn nightmare to put up on your own.
Better with a youngman.

They've all got to be better than the ones we made when I was younger.
we made them out of "tile lat" ( tanalsed 2x1timber) with a bit of joist nailed to the end.

Nobody died tho.

Did you reinforce the home made ladder with bent over t hinges on joists ?

Young and stupid i just ran up them with a roll of copex around my neck and a bucket of compo with a hammer and a cowl in it.
Getting down was usually harder than getting up.
Stupid stuff don't do it you only need to fall once.

Siding down a rosemary roof on a semi bouncing into ladder must leave brown marks inside your pants.

I near came off a rosemary roof years ago when one of the tiles came out from under my foot. Luckily i grabbed the ridge.
As i said stupid stuff.

I was trying to prove a point to subby few years ago..... Fell off bungalow roof.... Into pile of kitchen units winded myself.

I fell through a roof a few years ago. No ridge to hook the ladder over so I lifted tiles (Redland 49s) and walked up the battens. The battens were rot and gave way and I fell onto the roof face first. The tiles were rot as well and I smashed about 100. I repaired the roof by moving tiles up from lower down and used the old boiler case to temporarily weather the bottom.

when I first got my place, popped up the scaffold ready to reroof old slates, so wanting a gander at how bad it was I took a run up to the ridge, just as I reached the ridge, about 20m2 let go due to nail rot and down I went onto the scaffold. I do believe on the way down again I might have leaked a bit, 4 stories up plus roof!!! Had to go and buy some tarps to fill the gap, no underlay!!! then had a lot of single malt to settle the nerves.

ive got the cat ladder that come is sections that bolt together. The reason i got this one is i can carry it inside the van and store it inside my shed and a single one sit better on the roof compared to an extending one. If i left it im my garden for to long its would get taken down the tat yard by one of the local tracksuit wearing scumbags.
