Hi Guys, In 2016 I tried to promote the fitting of ShowerPowerBooster as an alternative to electric showers with very limited success. I put this down to the relative low cost of electricity in 2016. In 2022 the cost of electricity and gas is now 28p per KWH for electricity and 7p per KWH for gas.. To achieve adaptations and assistance with independent living, councils are paying contractors to fit electric showers and leaving the customer to pay 59p for every shower rather than a shower costing as little as 20p using SPBs. In writing a blog on this I am trying to use realistic costs for fitting an electric shower. Could forum members please let me know if my costs for a 9KW electric shower in my blog are correct. The cost of a 9KW...
Good Morning to the forum we would like to introduce our Acqua Tempus shower timer with shut off, particularly recommendable for homes with teenagers, hotels, tourist accomodations, etc.. It is an electronic device that limits the maximum shower time, after which it closes the tap, leaving it blocked for a predetermined waiting time. After this waiting time, Acqua Tempus returns to SHOWER mode and a new shower will be available. In addition, Acqua Tempus has an open tap sensor: if we have left the shower tap open, our device will auto-close. The savings, for families who wish to install it, will be double: water and energy, in addition to avoiding problems of crowding in the bathroom in the morning and anger. For those potential...

The Acqua Tempus shower timer is an easy-to-install device that restricts the maximum shower time, thus saving large amounts of water and gas. It prevents our children or hotel guests from taking excessively long showers, reducing our water and gas bills and helping to combat global warming. When shower time is gone, it shuts the tap off and remains blocked during a preset waiting time. Acqua Tempus has a water leak sensor: in case the user leaves the tap open, will automatically shut the tap to stop any water & energy waste. Our distributor in Britain is LEISURE CONTROLS INTERNATIONAL, for those who may be interested in knowing more about this product.
Bulb Energy started in 2015 and was one of the first utility providers to offer renewable electricity and gas to consumers. Unfortunately Bulb has gone into special administration due to the spike in wholesale prices. With the administrators now appointed - Bulb can continue to trade until the time is right for the company to be sold under the terms of special administration. So what should Bulb Customers do, as gas engineers and plumbers have you got any insider info that can help out members who may be in this situation, or other similar scenarios?

Hello Everyone Peeps...Would any plumbers like to share their preferred Rad Valve manufacturer? Drayton, Honeywell, Danfoss, Siemens, Peglar? Peglar offer 5 year guarantees, Honeywell for High Tec I have a leaning for Drayton as I live and they manufacture in the West Country. Thank you everyone
I have two showerheads on my shower, one is the the main overhead and the other is a hand held. Since I changed the bar about two months ago the shower isn't functioning properly. The overhead sometimes doesn't work when it should, unless I turn to hand held head and tap sharply a couple of s, then turn to main head and it usually works. i have checked all filters and they are clear. Any ideas?

Cop26 has now come to a close and Glasgow is getting back to normality. But just how easy is it going to be to phase out fossil fuel boilers and move to a more renewable energy source for our homes? We had a look at the various promises and pledges made by the Government and how easy these are going to be for plumbers of today and the future to implement. Cop26 has piled on the pressure to heat our homes differently to slow down Climate Change. Before COP26, the UK Has made it a law to be net zero by 2050. This means that legally we have to make changes to how we live to comply with this. Perhaps the biggest change to make is the way we heat our homes. There are roughly 23 million homes in the UK that still rely on a fossil fuel...
