Hi I need some advice as this has been ongoing since august and nobody can find a problem but meantime water is damaging my walls.
The lady upstairs had a plumber in July who relocated her washbasin shower and fitted a new radiator. He caused a bad leak and came to fix it in august and I thought...
Bad leak inside bathroom walls at floor for three days. A gallon every hour. Shut off water for a few hours and leak stopped. Turned water back on and leak has not come back. What happened?
Hi
Some people (not plumbers) have advised me that it's not such a good idea to
a) Have 4 x 90deg bends in a sewer pipe
and
b) Encase these pipes in the concrete walls of the new pool.
You can see the problem in this video:
and the re-routed pipes here that will be encased in the concrete...
Hi, remodelling a downstairs cloakroom and discovered that the old installation had the water pipe to the toilet through a copper pipe chased directly into the wall (not encased in anything like plastic piping). It's not leaking and the pipe doesn't seem to be corroded, but thinking it might be...
Hi, i’ve just recently moved into a house and in the middle of the night my cold water pipe constantly taps on the wall for a while is always at random times, will i have too pull my wall down to look for the pipe? Help i cant sleep cos of it lol
Hi guys. Would appreciate some thoughts on installing a waterproof good quality laminate floor in a large bathroom with tiled walls. This appears to be frowned upon in the past with the few old discussions I've pulled up but these days with today's materials and ideas is it doable? There's a...

Hi all. Hope you are doing well.
I have been asked to install a whole new system which they want all the drops chased into the walls for the rads. Usually I don't bother with this but they are willing to pay good money for it. Does anyone do it? What pipe do you use, and do you go vertically...
Hi all,
This is what the garage walls look like. Pictures were taken today. A couple of days ago the thick damp strip near the ceiling wasn't there, just the thin ones around the blocks, so it seems it is worsening.
The external tap was removed a couple of weeks ago as it was badly leaking and...

I'm building a new house and want to know is there a standard location\ distance from walls that the soil pipe should come up. The pipe will take a WC on the GF and then stack up to the 1st floor to take the bathroom above and then up to vent tile so he'll need a couple of T connectors which...
We have just become aware of Flexi Hoses fitted in walls of our Apartment Block.
The hoses supply shower mixer taps.
One of our owners, a retired builder said that it is illegal. Plumbers who came to repair leaking pipes also confirmed that using Flexi Hoses in an enclosed wall space is...
1500 x 700 low profile tray on solid floor. Newly plastered walls.
What system do you recommend to waterproof the walls ?
Any recommendations for the Topps matting or a roll on type ?
Will the walls need priming 1st ?
Any help is appreciated.
Hey guys. I know we sleeve copper pipes through walls to protect the pipe but what is the reaction called when copper is in contact with the brick mortar or plaster? Debating with a colleague. He thinks it’s elecrtolisys
This is a specific question. We all know that gas supply MUST be sleeved when passing thro walls esp external brick block etc. Boiler flues are ok because the outside air always is around the outside
of the nasty gas output.
Now what is the situation regarding
1. Condensate outflow ...as it is...
Hello, I am having my heating installed, the guys are using 10mm Polypipe from a manifold type setup.
We have couple of points where the pipe goes down a chased wall - is it ok to plaster straight over the 10mm polypipe - they tell me it's OK or should the pipe be embedded in trunking or is...
Hi, our doer upper currently has radiators that have been fitted with pipes running down the walls. We would like them to be hidden in the stud walls. Reading up, some people say use plastic, others say do it with copper. I think I'd prefer copper but would that mean my plumber would have to...
I’m just curious why plumbing is always done outside of and adjacent to walls here? I’m american and I can not remember a single time seeing boxed in plumbing in a bathroom ever. Do building regs proclude pipes being fitted inside of walls (through wooden studs etc) or is this just lazy plumbing...
Dear Experts !
Situation: I am re-doing my kitchen, but the previous house owner had a butcher fit the boiler and pipes.
these pipes are currently running outside the wall , in a haphazard way.
Question: should the pipes be running in a channel in the wall or outside ?
Once I know this, I may...
Would someone kindly advise if it’s accceptable for water pipes within walls to a basin be lose and not secured with significant play?
Thanks in advance.

Since last few days we are experiencing a weird problem. Whenever we start the taps (either hot or cold or both) / flush the toilets on the 2nd / 3rd floors...
