What is the reason you want to know if it’s ABS or PVC?

I’d like to know which weld fitting (abs or pvc) I need to buy and glue weld.

Floplast solvent weld glue seems to work on both of these in as much as it’s the only glue I use and I’ve never had a problem.
Admittedly I am only talking about waste pipe runs and not pressurised water supplies , but if you are using it for waste pipes you will be fine.
