    Is this sewer manhole correct?

it's known as a Buchan trap, probably after the Buchan idiot that designed it :2guns: also known as an interceptor trap and used to prevent vermin entering the pipe.

    meter pressure absorption

yea, that's what I was on about 19mb min at outlet of ecv, but my understanding is that you could loose another 4mb through meter pressure absorption. you could have 19mb on outlet of ecv, say due to new pipe been fed through old pipe, therefore you cant increase pressure and Transco can say...

    I like wales and west

I agree 3m3/hr changes the pressure, but what I mean is if you've got 13mb with the gas cock slightly open, you know there's a problem. so opening the gas cock fully wont make any difference, as we already know there's a problem

you dont open the gas cock fully but even if you did, it's not massively over to make any real difference. [ Meter capacity 6m3/hr & boiler gas rate say 3m3/hr ] but remember we we are only checking w/p at meter and not gas rating, so just need a flow of gas to do this and it does'nt matter...

Lame, listen and learn :biggrin5: so the boilers dead and there's no other gas appliances in the house. Here's how you do it, connect your u gauge to the meter as per normal, then disconnect the gas cock from the old boiler, now get an assistant or the customer to watch the u gauge & take...

    meter pressure absorption

Think I need to explain what i'm on about :smiley2: first lets assume the pipe sizing is correct, as we've got a 1mb drop from meter to appliance. Now lets say you have 15mb w/p at the meter test point with the meter running at 6m3 capacity, so you shut off some appliances to drop the gas...
