Does anyone know what John Lewis actually do when they swap over a gas or dual fuel cooker?
I'lll give them a call in the morning, they advertise removal and disposal of the old one for £9 and fitting a new one for £75-£85-£95 depending on whether it's a hob or stand alone dual fuel jobbie.

I looked at this last week but it's more than I'm ticketed for.
Replace two Keston c55s (in tandem) with another two Keston heat 55s.
Client has got a deal from Keston so he'll supply the boilers.

I've just had to replace the fan on a green star 24i.
How much would you have charged?
So, visit site and diagnose, off to Plumbcentre to collect and back to site to fit. 3 hours time and £185 for the fan.
Hi all, I'm hoping somebody can help with a problem I'm having with the fan on a Suprima 80 HE.
I went to look at the boiler last Monday and diagnosed a faulty fan which I replaced. 3 hours later the new one was onthe blink again so another new one went in, after I had had a chat with potterton...
I had mine 4 weeks ago and, like others say, he's not trying to trip you up. I went blank on the tightness test, couldn't remember the stabilisation bit, what it was called or what the pressure should be! He just laughed and after a wee nudge I was back on track.

Thanks for the replies.
Someone has asked me about them as she's had one suggested for her new house and, having never even heard of Strebel, I thought this would be the most informed place to find out about them.
:smile5::smile5: I wish, some of those guys make more than plumbers!
There are free areas on the website which you can have a look at and decide if it would be worth it or not
I went to the PHEX show at Chelsea yesterday and picked up the leaflet, signed up when I got home. £5.99 for a lot of info on your phone and laid out well, as tyh above says, a no brainer.

Did it not have a cleaning agent added when it was originally drained and refilled? Or after the BG chap cleared the muck from the pump? (Just answered my own question) Anyway, it should be cleaned, and then drained and refilled a few times to clean out the cleaner and the remaining crud. Adding...
I should add that it's better to use the closure cap if you've got it as the trv can open up and let by if the temperature drops.
How do I know this?
We had a Welsh plumber called Di (afterwards known as Di the Leek) who took a rad off and only used the trv to isolate the water. Did I mention...
Hi everybody, I'm really getting this wrong, having introduced myself on another part of the forum.
I'll put it down to being the wrong side of a (small) bottle of cider and the light of my life being upstairs watching 'Strictly'.
Here's my previous intro.
Hi all, just realised that I've been...
