Problem with 2 zone central heating

Hi

Got a problem with 2 zone central heating in new house.

Downstairs heating (zone 1) wont come on unless upstairs heating (zone 2) is already on.

When I try to put downstairs on on its own, the boiler doesnt even fire up. But with upstairs on first everything works fine.

Any suggestions?

Get the builders gsr back?

Motorised valve not making contact with end switch.
Will need new head.
Is the house under 2 year old? If so, should be still under guarantee.

Only just happened last month.

Ok thanks no its just gone past 2 years. Will contact builders anyway see what they say

Would be worth it. It may be a zone valve faulty. Could also still be under warranty.
